UniDyne Recording Equipment
At Unidyne Studio, we have selected our recording equipment to capture the detail and character of each performance clearly. Our acoustically treated rooms work together with this gear, whether you are recording vocals, guitars, or a full band.
High-Fidelity Audio Interfacing
We use high-quality conversion and interfacing right from the start. The Prism Sound Orpheus provides very clean analogue-to-digital conversion. We utilise multiple conversion and Pro Tools systems including Digidesign HD2 and 192 systems, an Apogee AD8000, and a UA Apollo Twin MKII Quad for flexible tracking at high resolution.
Work With Some of the World's Best Microphones
To ensure that your vocals are recorded with professional-grade fidelity and clarity, UniDyne uses some of the best condenser tube microphones available, including the Telefunken ELA M 251E, Telefunken U47, and the AKG C12VR.
Get the Right Preamp For Your Sound
The preamp stage is important for shaping the sound early and ensuring that your initial recordings are clean, clear, and have a strong line level before mixing. We have a range of preamps available, so we can choose the right one for your voice or instrument. This helps the recordings sound natural and balanced from the first take.
We also use a selection of high-quality microphones and cables, including Analysis Plus Studio Oval, Accusound Tube, Vovox Sonorus, Van Damme, Mogami, and Pete Cornish instrument cables. These ensure reliable signal transmission and minimise interference.
Our experienced engineers work with you to capture performances that reflect your music accurately.

Most Popular Questions
At Unidyne Studio, we tailor each recording project to the artist and genre.
Because of studio space requirements, larger instruments like full drum kits and grand piano are typically recorded off-site. Most other instruments and vocals are recorded in-studio in Box Hill, Melbourne.
Our standard workflow is layered tracking:
- Rhythm foundation (usually drums/percussion)
- Bass
- Guitars/keys
- Lead and backing vocals
If your project requires live energy, we can also arrange simultaneous recording for multiple musicians.
Not necessarily. We provide selected in-studio instruments, including electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and MIDI keyboard options.
You are welcome to use our gear, bring your own instruments, or combine both, depending on your sound and workflow preferences.
We can record up to 4 musicians simultaneously in one session setup.
If your band has more members, we can structure your session in efficient stages to maintain performance quality and studio flow.
Recording sessions can be booked for up to 10 hours per day.
For larger projects such as EPs and albums, we recommend booking multiple sessions so there is enough time for tracking, comping, and quality checks.
